CAI Networks releases new firmware for 1U form factor WebMux

In addition to firewall function, it also support DSR or Out-of-Path load balancing.

(Santa Ana, CA, Feb. 28, 2003) CAI Networks, Inc., a leading provider of IP load balancers announced today that it has released a newer version firmware for its 1U form factor WebMux, it is version 4.2. This release of WebMux has Out-of-Path or DSR support for large traffic load balancing needs.

Since WebMux was introduced more than four years ago, it has been widely accepted by many ISPs, hosting centers, and companies for their Internet traffic management, server management and security needs. Many financial institutions, hosting services, goverment agencies, security advisor companies, as well as military agencies settled on WebMux for its high performance, high reliability, sturdy construction, best support, and reasonable price.

This new release of 1U WebMux firmware will bring newer performance to companies. In NAT or In-Path mode, WebMux 1U can already handle huge amount traffic. Many customers found WebMux can easily handle over 300,000 concurrent connections for their server farms. With this new version firmware, WebMux in Out-of-Path or DSR mode can handle 10 to 100 times more traffic, which is at 3,000,000 to 30,000,000 concurrent connections.

The new firmware still allow the In-Path or NAT mode. In that mode, WebMux not only does load balancing, but also act as firewall device. Although it has no virus filtering capability, it can prevent any unauthorized access from Internet, pretecting the servers from DoS or Syn attacks. This helps many companies to save the extra firewall budget and proven to be very reliable.

New version of the firmware for 1U WebMux is ready for immediately delivery in the United States. All current WebMux owners can obtain firmware update through arrangement with their resellers.
